We like to be judged on our RESULTS. We participate in our local Agricultural Fair by entering some of our fruit and vegetables from our home garden. The Quality of our food speaks for itself and consistently year over year wins 1st prize ribbons. Our Gardens are planted and then left to themselves, due to our full time work schedule and work in the community. I credit our success to our living soil, organic practices and using our Complete Organic Fertilizer.
The Salt Spring Island Fall Fair is Saltspring’s oldest community event, in action since 1895. The Fall fair is a great event that connects locals and visitors alike at the Farmers’ institute. Between zucchini races, tractor pulls, live music, delicious food, and competitions with hundreds of displays, the fall Fair is a celebration of our communities skills in agriculture and the arts.
It displays some of the best of the community from arts and crafts, to produce and poultry. We like to grow food, so this year our family decided to participate in the fall fair. We entered our garden produce into the categories of Garlic, Family Basket, Medicinal Herbs, Potatoes, Blueberries, and Tallest Sunflower.
I’m proud to share that we won first prize for Garlic, Family Basket of Produce, Tallest Sunflower, and medicinal herb display in 2023! We won the Trophy for best Overall Berries, Best Blueberries and won the Trophy for Best Squash in 2024. We also won top spots for Best Tasting Apple, Best Red Potatoes and best Kale in 2025! We’d like to share the organic fertilizer that we use with you and your family.
