Medium to large, fuzzy, yellow fruit with green shoulders. Soft, yellow, semi freestone flesh. Flavor similar to locally grown Red Havens. Resistant to split pit. Good for drying and fresh eating. Fair for canning. Self fertilize tree. SHowly blooms in the spring. Very heavy fruit set. Requires thinning, One of the most leaf curl disease resistant varities. Although not immune its resistance seems to increase with maturity. Ripens in Mid august. 700 chill hours. Zones 5-9. Introduction from western Washington.

Reliance

Open pollinated seeding of Meredith x minn. PHO 4559. Medium size fruit has dull red blush over yellow background. Bright elow, medium soft, juicy, sweet flesh. Freestone even in the coldest driest seasons. Small pit. Good for canning, freezing, and fresh market. Vigorous, fast growing tree. Self fruitful. Bears when young. SHowly blossoms. Very bud hardy. Best choice for severly cold winters and springs. Ripens late July; 14-21 days before Elberta. 750-1000 chill hours. Withstands temperatures of -25 degrees F if preceding weather is favorable. Zones 4-8. Developed by professor Meader at the New Hampshire AES in 1964.
